In Greek, mazi (μαζί) means together. It is the word that sits at the heart of everything we do — guests and hosts, owners and managers, travellers and the places they visit. Hospitality only works when everyone moves in the same direction. That is the idea Mazi was built on.
Mazi started the way most good ideas do — from personal experience. In 2016, we began operating our own family properties in Mataró and quickly understood two things: the Maresme coast had enormous potential as a destination, and many local property owners wanted to enter the tourist rental market but had no professional partner to help them do it well.
We started offering our services to those owners. One property became several, several became a portfolio, and what began as a family initiative is today a structured, experienced team managing apartments across the Costa del Maresme with the same care we applied to the first one.
Mataró is 35 minutes from Barcelona by train. It has a beach, a Roman history, a walkable old town and a pace of life that Barcelona cannot offer. We saw that early. We are still here.
Owners know exactly how their property is performing, what it earns, what it costs and why. Guests know exactly what they are booking. There are no hidden fees, no vague clauses and no surprises at check-in. In an industry where opacity is common, we chose the harder path — and it has made every relationship we have more solid and more lasting.
We are not a platform. We are a team based in Mataró that knows the neighbourhood, the neighbours and the details that matter. When something needs attention, we handle it directly — no call centres, no automated replies, no waiting. For guests, that means real local support. For owners, it means someone who treats their property as if it were their own.
Short-term rental is often managed with a short-term mindset. We do the opposite. We invest in the quality of each property, build genuine relationships with owners over years and look after guests in a way that brings them back. The Maresme coast is our home. We are not here to extract value from it — we are here to grow with it.
